Biblical Finance 101: Cash Flow Conspiracy 1

There are forces (satan, society and sin) at work to undermine one's financial success. In a roundabout fashion, these forces also undermine the success of the church. I'll refer to their effect as the Cash Flow Conspiracy, the topic of discussion for the next few months.

Ephesians 6:12 says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Satan is leading this onslaught. He is very active today, able to reign upon the earth to do as he wishes and is only constrained by God (Job 1:6-2:6). Satan's sole purpose in life/eternity is to have as much company as possible to accompany him in the Lake of Fire (Rev 20:10,15).

What does all this have to do with money? Well, it's a known fact that there are more unbelievers than believers. How are unbelievers reached? The gospel of Jesus Christ! The thrust of the spread of the gospel comes from the tithes and offerings of Christians. Christians in financial bondage are rendered financially inept and don't tithe, therefore, the church becomes ineffective in worldwide evangelism. Every Christian's financial accountability and stewardship, or lack thereof, has eternal consequences. Next time I'll discuss some of the ways Satan may use to make a Christian stumble.
